Our challenge with this component was to apply an electrically conductive coating, which in turn had to be electrically insulated from the basic material. A solution was found by coating the component with an electrically insulating ceramic material that was applied with plasma spraying. |
To achieve electrical conductivity of the uppermost layer, the ceramic insulator was topped with a copper coating, applied by cold spraying.
